JAMES PACKER

As a talented and established musician, James has also taught music locally for 15 years, whilst also performing at weddings and events.

Having lived in Wells for some years, James is passionate about the community, the city, and bringing people together through music.

James hopes to inspire the community – regardless of age or experience – to take up music, whether singing, playing the drums, or the piano to name a few, by offering a range of affordable music lessons at the proposed Wells Contemporary Music Centre.

James has now launched his music school, Portway Music School.

ROB BRAY

Rob Bray is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer who has recently moved to Glastonbury and is now offering 1:1 tuition on electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and songwriting at the Portway Annexe, in addition to the production and tuition services he offers at his studio.

Rob’s approach is relaxed and friendly, and always focused on the interests and aims of his clients. Rob has worked with musicians of all ages and levels of experience as a tutor and workshop leader for 25 years, and welcomes beginners.

ROLAND MELIA

He has worked in CD production, composed music for theatre, supervised music for film and delivered creative workshops to school children.

He teaches conducting technique and offers musical mentoring to students of all ages.

Roland Melia began his wide – ranging career as a cellist playing with orchestras such as National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, English National Opera, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, City of London Sinfonia. and the contemporary ensemble, Lontano.

Following studies with David Robertson (Julliard School of Music)  and Ilya Musin  (St Petersburg Conservatoire ) he has conducted numerous orchestras such as Bournemouth Sinfonietta, Britten Sinfonia, Royal Ballet, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland , St Petersburg Philharmonic as well as Symphony Orchestras in Portugal, Mexico and Chile.

Roland has been the Music Director of Leicester Symphony Orchestra, Hereford Symphony Orchestra, White Horse Opera and Cyprus Symphony Orchestra.

He has worked in music promotion for Pharos Arts Foundation in Cyprus and in more general artistic direction for Cegin Productions in UK.
